Lead Sales Associate – FT in Madisonville, TN – S21176

Location: Madisonville, Tennessee

Join Dollar General as a Lead Sales Associate to help drive sales, deliver excellent customer service, and support Store Managers and Assistant Store Managers during their absence.

• Function as a Cashier and/or Stocker during periods of high activity.
• Act in a lead capacity in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager.
• Assist in setting and maintaining plan‑ograms and programs to maximize profitability.
• Provide exemplary customer service to all shoppers.
• Perform duties to protect company assets and reduce losses.
• Unload trucks, receive, open, and unpack cartons and totes.
• Stock merchandise; rotate and face merchandise on shelves and build displays.
• Restock returned and recovered merchandise.
• Order zones and drop shipment categories per prescribed ordering practices.
• Assist with plan‑ogram implementation and maintenance.
• Assist customers by locating merchandise.
• Maintain store cleanliness, including dusting, mopping, trash removal, and restroom upkeep.
• Greet customers, operate register and scanner, bag merchandise, and collect payment.
• Help set up sidewalk displays and keep the front end of the store clean.
• When required, perform openings and closings under Area Manager direction.

• Authorize and sign for refunds and overrides; count registers; make bank deposits.
• Maintain strict cashier accountability, key control, and adherence to security practices.
• Monitor cash levels and perform drawer pulls as directed.
• Monitor cameras for unusual activity.
• Supply cashiers with change when needed.
• Complete required paperwork and documentation on time.

• Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages).
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures.
• Ability to operate IBM cash register functions.
• Understanding of safety policies and practices.
• Effective interpersonal and oral/written communication skills.
• Ability to read and follow plan‑ograms and merchandise presentation guidance.

High school diploma or equivalent and preferably six months of supervisory experience or related training.

• Frequent walking, standing, bending, stooping, and kneeling.
• Manual handling of merchandise and equipment (scanners, stickers, boxes, dollies). Lift up to 40 lbs regularly, up to 55 lbs occasionally.
• Occasional climbing (step ladder) up to six feet.
• Fast‑paced environment with moderate noise.
• Exposure to outside weather.
• Occasional driving for bank deposits and meetings.
