Produce Clerk

Provide excellent customer service by filling the shelf with incoming stock and backstock, keeping clean the Produce Department, and responding to customers’ questions and needs in a professional, friendly, and timely manner.

Examples Of Work Performed:(Work responsibilities may vary, depending on assignment)

• Keeps the produce cases full
• Make sure that produce cases are clean and neat
• Provides excellent customer service
• Prepares produce for display
• Keeps the work station clean
• Looks for and remove defective produce
• Assists on stocking days
• Makes bags of ice and fill the ice machine
• Any other responsibilities assigned by manager

Work will take place in areas that are cooler than room temperature. Standing for long periods of time and moving objects 0 – 50 lbs. may be required.

• Basic knife skills
• Knowledge of the different types of produce
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to read a weight measuring scale
• Ability to use the wrapping machine

• Requires the ability to independently perform all of the duties of the position efficiently and effectively.
• Knowledge of record keeping of ordering.
• Knowledge of how to make produce baskets
