Immediately hiring a Permanent Full Time Experienced Mid-Level Diesel Technician to support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Gray, TN.

- Hourly Pay: $25.50 per hour
- Certification Bonus: $100 for each new ASE certification up to $700
- Quarterly Bonus: up to $500 each quarter
- Schedule:
Monday–Friday, weekends off - Hours:
Second Shift 3:00 p.m. – 11:30 p.m.

Requirements- High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
- Vocational or Technical Certification, Post Secondary degree or Technical Certifications (preferred)
- Basic tools required
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance such as oil changes, brake and tire work
- Two (2) years or more of a combination of classroom training and work experience (required, preferred)
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A (preferred)
- Must be able to obtain a CDL within 6 months after hire
- Must pass a Ryder drug test
- Must pass a DOT physical
- Must pass a Ryder road test
Must pass a Ryder background and motor vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years
Some positions require additional screening that may include employment and education verification, motor vehicle records check and a road test, and/or badging or background requirements of the customer to which you are assigned.
Responsibilities- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
- Perform standard vehicle maintenance
- Perform standard component inspections and repairs
- Perform preventive maintenance
- Diagnose standard mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computer when applicable
- Identify root cause of basic failures/conditions and perform repairs as required
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Perform facility maintenance duties
- Interact with customers/drivers to determine nature of complaint once assigned a task
- Utilize shop management system and electronic documentation available
- Work in accordance with federal, provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
- Perform other support duties as required to support operations, including but not limited to Service Island support
