Position Overview:As the Truck Driver, you will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery of precast concrete products to various job sites. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong commitment to safety and customer satisfaction. You will collaborate closely with dispatch and field teams to ensure all deliveries are executed efficiently and professionally.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:- Safely operate a truck to transport precast concrete products to designated locations on schedule while adhering to all traffic laws and safety protocols.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of truck equipment and supplies, including tires, lights, brakes, fuel, oil, and water, and report daily using inspection logs.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and complete necessary paperwork in compliance with D.O.T. regulations.
- Keep accurate and dependable vehicle documents, including insurance cards, cab cards, and registrations for trailers.
- Assist in loading and unloading products, ensuring that loads are properly secured for transport.
- Effectively communicate with dispatch and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
- Follow all safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the organization.
- Identify and report any maintenance needs or mechanical issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Safely maneuver the tractor and trailer on job sites, following instructions from the crane operator or set crew.
- Operate the vehicle in a professional and courteous manner at all times, maintaining a clean and professional appearance.
- Travel regionally as required to meet project timelines and customer needs.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- Strong communication skills and commitment to customer satisfaction.
- Demonstrated ability to operate commercial vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Strong understanding of D.O.T. regulations and safety standards.
- Ability to perform physical tasks related to loading and unloading.
- Focus on maintaining and enhancing safety and compliance.
- Valid CDL Class A driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience driving commercial vehicles; flatbed or heavy haul experience.
- Ability to qualify for a D.O.T. Medical Card.
