Resort Trolley Driver - Dollywood's Heart Song Lodge & Resort (Seasonal)

At Dollywood Parks & Resorts, we create memories worth repeating. We do this every day at Dollywood Resorts, which include over 600 rooms and 15 Food & Beverage outlets, all located in the Great Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee. Our future plans include growing our resort footprint to over 1200 rooms across five resorts at Dollywood.

The right Resort Trolley Driver will be playful, authentic, collaborative, creative, and genuinely hospitable—an equal parts learner, innovator, administrator, detail‑driven mentor, and motivator.

Responsibilities and Essential Functions
  • Greets guests and initiates friendly interaction to provide Guest excellence that exceeds expectations.
  • Effectively uses empowerment to ensure Dollywood’s 100% Satisfaction Guarantee policy is implemented.
  • Reacts calmly and quickly in stressful or emergency situations; physically assists Guests throughout the area as required.
  • Perform core duties as a Resort Trolley Driver:
    • Transport Guests via Trolley in a safe and efficient manner.
    • Visually observe surroundings to identify potential safety hazards.
    • Clean and organize conveyance daily to present a professional appearance.
    • Communicate calmly, clearly, and professionally with Guests and Hosts.
    • Assist Guests with loading/unloading of the Trolley, alerting them to step heights and curb locations.
    • Assist Guests with loading/unloading of ECVs, wheelchairs, and strollers.
  • Completes daily written reports and submits any necessary paperwork to Parking PIC.
  • Operates vehicles and performs assigned duties in all weather conditions.
  • Maintains a sense of urgency toward the operation area to reduce Guest wait time.
  • Uses time productively, including sweeping, clearing cobwebs, straightening cones, and similar tasks.
  • Assists with other parking areas as needed or requested by Management.
  • Wears and maintains a themed costume issued by Dollywood.
  • Performs special projects as directed by Management.
  • Attends all required training classes and meetings.
  • Complies with safety and security directives, policies, and procedures to ensure Hosts/Guests safety at all times.
  • Verbally communicates and enforces safety rules.
  • Visually observes Guest actions during operation to prevent safety hazards.
  • Initiates friendly interaction with guests.
  • Works varying hours and in different areas when needed.
  • Maintains confidentiality at all times.
  • Follows all safety standards and reports any violations.
  • Management reserves the right to change and/or add to these duties at any time.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to drive all motor vehicles used in operations—the trolley, shuttle van, and truck.
  • Must have a valid Tennessee Commercial Driver’s License with a Passenger Endorsement and proof of auto liability insurance.
  • May be required to provide a copy of a personal driving record from home state.
  • Must have less than three (3) traffic violations on record in the last three (3) years.
  • Must not have a DUI conviction in the past 15 years on record.
  • Must submit and pass a pre‑employment DOT Certified Drug and Alcohol Screening and background check.
  • Must submit and pass a Motor Vehicle Records check.

  • Able to make a friendly impression when speaking to or corresponding with guests, vendors, and other employees.
  • Must reflect Dollywood’s image by being genuinely friendly, caring, and taking pride in work.
  • Must be self‑motivated and disciplined.
  • Ability to memorize safety standards & scripted material.
  • Must prioritize and complete work assignments on a timely basis.
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality and judgment regarding privileged information.
  • Must be committed to continuous improvement.
  • Must have a professional appearance with good personal hygiene.
  • Must promote and support a “team” work environment by cooperating and helping co‑workers.
