Position: Food Safe Level 1 Instructor )

Coast Mountain College (CMTN) Terrace campus invites applications for an auxiliary instructional position for Food Safe Level 1 – CEFAID 729 course on an on‑call basis (weekdays, evenings and weekends) up to 500 hours. The on‑call period will commence May 1, 2026. Salary will be in accordance with the BCGEU Instructor Scale.

Duties
  • Teach Food Safe Level 1 courses and support all key aspects of classroom instruction.
  • Plan lessons and prepare course materials.
  • Deliver clear and engaging instruction.
  • Evaluate student work and assessments, monitor progress and provide guidance and feedback.
  • Maintain accurate records, ensure course content is delivered in accordance with program standards.
  • Carry out other instructional and administrative responsibilities related to successful delivery of Food Safe Level 1 training.
Qualifications
  • Current certification as a FOODSAFE instructor in British Columbia is required.
  • Preference for candidates with a Provincial Instructor Diploma or equivalent instructional training, previous teaching experience and relevant food industry experience.
  • Relevant industry experience.
  • Strong group facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a positive and motivating learning environment for diverse learners.
  • Customer and client service oriented.
  • Adaptable and able to work effectively in a variety of situations.
  • Ability to deliver course content clearly and assess student learning effectively.
  • Valid BC Driver's License and a clean driver's abstract.
