The City of Terrace is seeking a dedicated Fire Smart Coordinator to enhance wildfire preparedness through effective community education and engagement. This grant-funded, temporary position centers on organizing events, facilitating education sessions, and fostering collaboration among community partners. Your leadership will help residents implement strategies for wildfire risk reduction.
Key Responsibilities:
• Serve as the primary contact for the Fire Smart Program
• Organize events like Wildfire Community Preparedness Day
• Facilitate community Fire Smart sessions and information distribution
• Liaise with consultants for Community Wildfire Resiliency Plan development
• Promote Fire Smart principles on both community and private lands
Requirements:
• Two years of related leadership experience in public safety
• Expertise in emergency preparedness programs
• Successful completion of Fire Smart 101 and local certifications
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Valid Class 5 BC driver's license
Drive community engagement and education while contributing to wildfire risk mitigation efforts in Terrace.
