Nurse Practitioner at Wellington

Join Wellington Terrace as a Nurse Practitioner, providing comprehensive primary care and leadership within an interdisciplinary health care team in Fergus. Enhance resident health through assessments, prescribed therapies, and quality improvement initiatives.

This full-time role focuses on delivering high-quality care to residents while mentoring team members. You will work under the guidance of the Director of Care, attending to the legislative scope of practice as set by the College of Nurses of Ontario. Helping to lead educational and evidence-based initiatives is central to the position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide primary care to residents across long term care

• Conduct thorough health assessments and medication reviews

• Prescribe therapies per medical directives and procedures

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary health care team

• Mentor and teach nursing staff on clinical management

Requirements:

• Four-year Nursing degree and two-year NP program

• Minimum three years’ experience in health care settings

• Current Ontario registration as Extended Class RN

• Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support

• Experience in dementia and palliative care is beneficial
