Adjunct Faculty - Mathematics - Terre Haute Main Campus
Ivy Tech Community College - Terre Haute Main Campus is seeking Math Adjunct (Part Time) Instructors for Spring of 2026. These classes will run on the Main Campus, at different times during the day, face to face, in the classroom setting.
Responsibilities- Adjunct Faculty are hired each semester on an as-needed basis and are responsible for creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals.
- Provide effective instruction and assessment within the framework of common syllabi provided.
- Facilitate student learning by delivering assigned classes in accordance with College policy and course objectives.
- Make optimal use of available technology to enhance instructional methods.
- Develop and maintain course outlines, syllabi, lesson plans, assignments, tests, and materials while maintaining accurate student records, grades, and other requirements.
- Engage with students in meaningful and productive ways that impact student learning and lead to a positive experience with Ivy Tech Community College, showing evidence of active classroom teaching strategies focused on engaging students with their learning (curricular).
- Interact with students and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner, complying with College policies, campus guidelines, and expectations.
- Ensure knowledge of and implement emergency and safety procedures for classrooms, labs, and all learning environments.
- Other duties logically associated with this position may be assigned. All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.
Must have strong working knowledge of current technologies appropriate to the area of instruction and meet faculty credentials as outlined in the ASOM 7.1 for the specific area(s) of instruction. Conduct all activities with an appreciation, respect, and promotion of diversity of people, styles, and views.
Mathematics Discipline Standard- Possesses an earned master’s or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in mathematics; or
- Possesses an earned master’s or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in any field with 18 graduate credit hours in mathematics‑related courses.
