The Learning Resource Center (LRC) is dedicated to empowering students by providing academic support that stimulates critical thinking and nurtures the development of academic independence. Ivy Tech Community College - Terre Haute Campus is currently recruiting for an on-campus math tutor with strong proficiency in college-level algebra. The ideal candidate will be able to assist students with topics commonly found in courses such as Quantitative Reasoning and College Algebra.

While not required, the ability to support students in trigonometry and calculus is highly preferred and would be a valuable asset.

• Provide one-on-one tutoring sessions to students seeking assistance in various subjects within the assignment guidelines and boundaries of the LRC
• Set a precedent of academic integrity, accountability, responsibility by modeling and demonstrating good student behavior as a tutor.
• Contributes to student learning, growth, and advancement.
• Develop and implement strategies that promote analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Refers students to appropriate support services when necessary.
• Collaborate with faculty and other LRC staff to identify areas for improvement and adapt tutoring strategies accordingly.
• Create educational materials, resources, and guides that supplement course content and aid in comprehension.
• Stay updated on curriculum changes and educational trends to ensure relevance of support materials at the direction of the Coordinator.
• Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions in Trac Cloud.
• Distribute and collect student feedback at the direction of the Coordinator.
• Other duties as assigned

• Minimum of B in subject to tutor.

• Ability to take supervision and correction constructively.

$15.00/hour. Scheduled up to 28 hours per week.
