We are a leading Midwest‑based recruiting firm partnering with a prominent client in construction and real estate development. We are seeking a Construction Cost Analyst to join their Terre Haute, IN team.
This is a high‑visibility, financial auditing role where your insights directly drive the financial success of multi‑million dollar construction projects ($60M-$80M). You will operate as a critical internal auditor, ensuring financial accuracy and maximizing budgetary efficiency across four to five concurrent projects. This role offers rapid career growth, as the opening is due to the previous Analyst’s promotion within the company.

- Team & Culture:
You will be the fourth member of a close‑knit Cost Analysis team, reporting to a Lead Cost Analyst. The team is highly collaborative and supportive. Our client’s culture is driven by strong values, supporting community outreach, and championing employee well‑being. - Location:
This is a fully in‑office role in Terre Haute, IN, essential for team collaboration. - Tools & Technology: Systems training is provided; experience not required). Strong Excel proficiency is required.
You will act as the internal financial watchdog, ensuring project financial integrity and efficiency:
- Financial Auditing:
Review and interpret project expenses, recommending cost control and process improvement. - High‑Stakes Communication:
Assertively communicate with Project Managers and vendors to resolve financial discrepancies and enforce cost adherence. - Strategic Analysis:
Manage budgets, use forecasting tools (e.g., Gain/Fade charts), and prepare analysis for executive decision‑making. - Reporting & Closeout:
Prepare monthly project reports and manage project financial closeout.
- Background:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or a related field with at least two years of experience. We are open to diverse backgrounds, including professionals from Public Accounting (Audit is a strong fit). Construction experience is preferred but not mandatory. - Skills:
Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and leadership capabilities. Must display curiosity and be self‑driven.
- Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000 plus bonus.
