Material Handler I - 2nd & 3rd Shift
Join Maker's Pride as a Material Handler responsible for storing, moving, and handling products and materials in a structured manufacturing environment. The role ensures compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and maintains safety and quality standards.
Hours of OperationMonday through Friday + overtime/ weekends.
2nd Shift: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
3rd Shift: 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM
Job SummaryThe Material Handler is responsible for transporting, packing, and disposing of products and materials while maintaining inventory, operating equipment safely, and supporting 5S housekeeping.
Job Duties and Responsibilities- Identify, transport, pack, remove, and dispose of products and materials.
- Operate forklifts, handcarts, or pallet jacks to pick, replenish, shuttle, and load/unload orders.
- Maintain inventory levels as directed.
- Feed lines with product as scheduled or directed by supervision.
- Ship and receive materials throughout the shift.
- Operate all equipment in a safe manner.
- Count, weigh, and record numbers of units or materials moved or handled.
- Ensure that product moved is identified and labeled correctly.
- Perform housekeeping to maintain 5S, sweeping floors, and disposing of trash.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of GMPs or willingness to learn.
- Ability to obtain forklift certification within 90 days.
- Ability to operate stand‑up and extended forklifts.
- Sufficient math skills.
- Understanding and following all safety policies and procedures.
- Reading and writing in English preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Must be 18 years of age.
- Previous material handling experience a plus, varies by location.
- Manufacturing environment with exposure to machines, noise, and varying temperatures.
- Team environment requiring respectful communication.
- Willingness to work overtime and across shifts as needed.
- Reaching with hands/arms throughout the day.
- Ability to lift up to 90 lbs assisted and 40 lbs unassisted.
- Ability to stand up to 80% of the scheduled shift.
- Ability to walk, climb, and/or balance throughout the shift.
