Under supervision of the Deputy Chief Medical Officer, or his/her designee, provide assigned nursing and medical services within the limits and scope of training and license.

• Obtain relevant Psychiatric health and medical history for assigned patients
• Evaluation and treatment of psychiatric illnesses under the collaboration of the Chief Medical Officer, HCI psychiatrists or HCI physician as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the Chief Medical Officer.
• Assume primary on‑call responsibilities with back‑up provided by the Chief Medical Officer or other designated Hamilton Center psychiatrists. This duty includes the issuance of admission orders and inpatient rounds to the Hamilton Center Inpatient Unit as necessary.
• Issuance of orders for the use of mechanical restraints on the Hamilton Center Inpatient Unit when it is determined such an intervention is necessary to maintain the safety of the patient in question, his or her peers or Hamilton Center personnel. When mechanical restraints are ordered by the Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist, he or she will also complete the mandatory face‑to‑face assessment of the patient in question and document that assessment in the medical record within 60 minutes of the ordering of the restraints.
• Will staff walk‑in cases conducted by Hamilton Center Access Center personnel or other HCI clinicians and will make disposition recommendations. The Chief Medical Officer or his designated psychiatrist will be available as back‑up to assist with this triage process, as is necessary.
• Provide Clinical supervision for Executive Director of Medical Services as requested.
• Flexibility in work schedule as determined by organizational needs.

• R.N. with a M.S. Degree as a Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist
• Board certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist
• At least two years of experience in mental health setting
• Understanding of current mental health treatment.
• Knowledge of diagnoses and treatment of the severely mentally ill and/or addicted person.
• Willingness to use personal transportation in work capacity.

• Current and active Indiana License as Registered Nurse
• Current and active Indiana License as a Nurse Practitioner or Clinical Nurse Specialist
• Current and active Indiana Controlled Substances Registration Certificate
• Board certification as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist
• Current and active DEA certificate
• Maintain current American Red Cross CPR/AED certifications. (Onsite staff only)
• Maintain current Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification. (Onsite staff only)
• Valid Driver’s License in accordance with motor vehicle policy
• Maintain TB screening certification.
• Completes all required continuing education requirements in a timely manner.
