$75,000.00/yr - $95,000.00/yr

The Environmental Specialist II role is focused on the coordination of the environmental, health and safety activities to maintain compliance with EPA, OSHA, Corporate and Facility environmental regulations and initiatives. The role reports to the Safety Manager.

Job responsibilities include:
  • Conduct inspections of site air, tanks and wastewater to ensure compliance with environmental regulations (air, water, waste, hazardous materials).
  • Review & evaluate environmental permit applications, compliance reports, and monitoring data.
  • Assist in the preparation and enforcement of compliance orders, notices of violation, & corrective action plans.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret environmental samples (soil, air, water, waste)
We’re looking for the following experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in a supporting field of study.
  • 2+ years experience in industrial manufacturing, oil & gas, municipalities, or regulatory agencies (EPA, TCEQ).
  • Develop & maintain documentation and records for program audits and regulatory reporting.
  • Provide technical support in the development of environmental policies, guidance documents, and standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in environmental impact assessment (EIA’s) and reviews of proposed projects.
  • Prepare or review environmental assessments, site evaluations, and technical studies.
  • Recommend mitigation measures for projects with potential environmental impacts.
  • Mentor junior staff or assist in training employees.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
