What You’ll Get to DoAs an Associate Designer, you’ll play a key role in our New Product Development team, supporting the design, development, and enhancement of architectural window, door, and glazing systems. You will help create high-performance, cost-effective products through technical design expertise and cross‑functional collaboration.
Job responsibilities include:- Design and enhance architectural window and entrance systems to improve performance and manufacturability
- Develop detailed component and assembly designs using AutoCAD and Inventor
- Support performance validation through thermal and structural simulations and coordinate industry testing (AAMA, NFRC, etc.)
- Prepare product documentation including drawings, installation manuals, and technical data sheets
- Provide technical support to internal teams, customers, and architects on product applications and specifications
- Process and maintain Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) and ensure communication across departments
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and product management to align design solutions with business goals
- Research materials, technologies, and trends to inform and innovate product designs
- Associate’s degree in Drafting, Design, or Engineering Technology (Bachelor’s preferred)
- 2+ years of design or drafting experience in the architectural aluminum and glazing industry
- Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD (2019+) and Autodesk Inventor
- Knowledge of Revit and Autodesk Vault
- Strong communication and technical documentation abilities using Adobe Suite and Microsoft Office
- Understanding of architectural aluminum systems, thermal/structural performance, and industry standards (AAMA, ASTM, IGMA)
