Moog Aircraft Group is offering Higher Level Engineering Apprentice opportunities (Level 4 and
5) to join the teams at our engineering/manufacturing facility based in Tewkesbury. Level 4 (Higher National Certificate HNC) and 5 (Higher National Diploma HND) are equivalent to the 1st and 2nd year of an undergraduate degree.

You will be working within the Engineering team while completing rotations across cross‑functional areas, focusing on technical assignments that support the development, manufacture, assembly, and test of our hydro‑mechanical assemblies and systems.

In the Quality Engineering department, you will perform varied technical tasks related to project engineering such as product improvement studies, process improvement studies, and development of new systems and procedures. Responsibilities include conducting failure analyses, using organisational, technical, analytical, and communication skills to identify root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions.

You will start with a year in a learning environment at the Gloucestershire Engineering Training (GET) facility in Gloucester for initial academic knowledge and hands‑on experience. The program then moves into day‑release studies while attending the Tewkesbury site for the remainder of the week, with structured rotations across functions to support completion of Level 4 and 5 NVQ.

• Level 3 qualifications or equivalent to progress towards HNC/HND level.
• At least 5 GCSEs, including a minimum of a Level 4 (C) in Maths and Level 4 (C) or above in four other subjects including Science and English.
• Interest in mechanical engineering, an innate flair for innovation/creativity, and curiosity about how things work.
• Interest in mechanical and hydraulic design.
• Experience in technical projects that may include drawing, manufacture, test, software, or electrical systems.
• Understanding or interest in manufacturing/machining processes.
• Hobbies that support a mechanical aptitude and interest in the principles of engineering.

• Full paid apprenticeship that could progress to Level 6 studies (equivalent to an undergraduate degree).
