Job Title: Staff Project Engineer (R&D)
Reporting To: Manager, Research & Development
Work Schedule: Hybrid – Tewkesbury, G
Responsibilities- Electro‑mechanical, electro‑hydraulic and/or mechatronic control components/systems design and integration
- Project planning and execution including task definition, effort estimation, schedule management, and technical oversight of supporting technical staff in collaboration with the R&D Projects Manager
- Mathematical performance modelling using tools such as Spice, Excel, MathCAD, MATLAB/Simulink, and FEA
- 3D design and 2D drawing creation for aerospace components
- Application of aerospace materials knowledge and understanding of their properties
- Knowledge of common machining and fabrication processes
- Development of assembly techniques and associated tooling
- Development of qualification test methods and execution of qualification tests
- Compilation of clear and concise analysis and test reports, and review/approval of those produced by technical staff
- Aerospace configuration control and quality system adherence
- Presentation of technical detail to the customer
- Maintain personal integrity, objectivity and honesty in all professional activities
- Occasional overseas travel may be required
- Proven competence, experience and initiative within the aerospace sector in disciplines listed above
- Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained throughout employment
