Quality Engineer

Our client has been established for almost half a century and specialises in the provision of precision engineered components and solutions for supply across a diverse range of industry sectors worldwide.
They are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Quality Engineer to complement their professional quality team, develop and lead quality‑related improvement programmes, and identify internal opportunities for improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Actively involved in the NPI process, ensuring all quality requirements are understood and implemented.
- Generate downstream QA documentation.
- Lead and participate in third‑party supplier audits and internal audits to ensure the HPE management system delivers expected results.
- Ensure product quality requirements are not compromised through process changes.
- Collaborate closely with Operations / Shop Floor, Customers and Suppliers to investigate, remediate and implement timely corrective actions.
- Create QA documentation such as FAIR, Quality Plans, Inspection Test Plans, etc.
- Apply quality tools and techniques (MAS (R&R), SPC, RCA & CAPA, APQP, FAIR, PPAP) to investigate and resolve non‑conformance.
- Read and interpret technical Engineering Drawings (GD&T).
- Motivate and lead multi‑disciplined teams across the entire business.
- Implement effective monitoring and metrics to support corrective actions.
- Work with First Article Inspections as per AS9102.
- Strong knowledge and experience of PPAP and RCA techniques.
- Experience implementing monitoring/metrics to support corrective actions.
- Demonstrable experience with First Article Inspections per AS9102.
- Additional knowledge of machining processes (CNC & conventional) is advantageous.
- At least HNC level in a relevant Mechanical, Manufacturing or Production Engineering discipline.
- External Auditor Training and qualification at Lean Six Sigma Green Belt level or above.
- Experience with CMM programming, organisation and planning is advantageous.
- High level of attention to detail and ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
