Engineering Shift Team Leader

£21.51 per hour

Based at headquarters in Tewkesbury

Shift/hours Week 1:
Monday to Saturday 6am – 2pm

Week 2:
Monday to Friday 1:45pm – 9:45pm

About the role:

Source Co are currently hiring for a reputable business based in Tewkesbury. This hands on, shift-based role involves providing guidance and support to a team of Engineers working across our busy Production and Distribution plant. Acting as a key point of contact alongside the Department Manager, you’ll assist when complex electrical or mechanical maintenance issues arise that engineers cannot resolve independently.

The position calls for strong fault finding and problem-solving abilities, along with a proactive, self-motivated approach. As the role involves working with a variety of machinery, an electrical bias is essential.

The role:

* To support the Engineering Manager in delivering departmental goals

* Effectively utilising team skills; supervising, training and mentoring staff via practical instruction

* Coordinating and delivering planned, preventative maintenance schedules

* The repairing and testing of electrical and mechanical plant equipment

* Fault finding

* Assistance with office work, paperwork and record keeping

* Mentoring of Apprenticeship candidates where applicable

* Deputising for the Engineering Manager

* Holiday cover for Engineers and support staff

* Equipment breakdown call-out on a rota basis

Candidate requirements:

* A minimum of an electrical based, apprenticeship qualification

* Experience of high-speed machinery, ideally within an FMCG industry

* Experience of working with automated machinery

* Ability to electrical fault find to a high standard

* Ability to work with minimum supervision

* To be self-motivated and able to adapt to changing priorities

* To complete tasks in a timely manner and deliver a high standard of work

* Ability to work flexibility to cover shifts and work to tight deadlines

* A strong communicator able to foster and maintain excellent working relationships

* Experience of supervision and people management.
