About The Role

Grade G £41,771 - £46,142 pa + £5,000 pa market supplement

Substantive (37 hours per week)

Two positions are available: one specialising in Health & Safety and one in Environmental Protection. If you have a preference, please indicate this on your application form.

This is an excellent opportunity for two Environmental Health Officers to join our Environmental Health Team. Our officers play a key role in protecting public health and ensuring high environmental standards across the borough. We’re looking for qualified Environmental Health Officers with strong professional experience. On a personal level you will bring strong organisational and communication skills and enjoy working collaboratively as part of a supportive team.

The Environmental Protection role will involve leading on matters such as statutory nuisance, planning consultations and environmental crime together with supervising a small team of officers.

The Health and Safety role will predominantly focus on regulatory and corporate health and safety and will be responsible for taking a lead on matters such as accident investigation, health and safety complaints and event safety.

While recent experience in the relevant specialism is desirable, we welcome applications from candidates with a broad background across all the core environmental health disciplines.
