Community Nurse Evening and Overnight District Nursing

This role is offered on a permanent basis and is part‑time, requiring 18 hours per week with potential to increase.

The core hours are 7 pm to 8 am. Primary duties include:

• Working night shifts (10 pm–8 am) and some twilight shifts (7 pm–1 am).
• Providing community nursing services to patients needing unplanned care during out‑of‑hours periods.
• Co‑working with the Integrated Urgent Care Service, out‑of‑hours GP and Rapid Response team.
• Delivering clinical care and documentation using mobile devices (laptop and smartphone) for real‑time records.
• Working on a 7‑day schedule, including weekends and bank holidays.
• Participating in preceptorship and professional development programmes.

Driving licence and use of a vehicle for work purposes are essential.

• Registered Nurse with NMC.
• Degree or Diploma in Nursing.
• Evidence of continued professional development.
• Evidence of post‑registration training.

• Knowledge and understanding of clinical issues.
• Experience of working autonomously within a developing area and professional scope of practice.
• Previous experience providing acute/chronic patient care.
• Previous experience of community practice.
• Experience of lone working out of hours.

Salary: £32,073 to £39,043 per annum (pro rata)
