Harris in Tewkesbury is our HQ for our Intelligence & Cyber International division. In the land domain, our T7 and T4 multi-mission robots deliver next-generation remote capabilities and uncompromised performance. We design and manufacture world-leading land force protection systems, cyber and electromagnetic activities (CEMA), electronic warfare (EW) and encryption capabilities. Our cyber capabilities provide an information advantage in the fields of kinetic conflict, cyber warfare, force protection and counter terrorism.

We are seeking mid-level to experienced Software Engineers with a passion for software engineering and a proven track record of technical excellence to design and develop innovative, cutting-edge systems. This role offers the opportunity to be a hands-on Software Engineer helping to create software solutions that prioritise performance, reliability, and scalability.

What The Role Will Involve

  • Applying your software skills as an individual contributor to help develop complex software systems;
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define functional and non-functional requirements for embedded and/or user interface software projects;
  • Creation of low-level designs, implementation and test solutions, in line with the defined architecture;
  • Supporting and promoting adherence to coding standards, best practices, planning documentation, procedures for software development and delivery, and continuous improvement initiatives;
  • Providing guidance and mentorship to software engineers;
  • Meeting cost and schedule targets while contributing to technical reviews, bids & proposals, budget & schedule discussions, customer engagement activities

What You’ll Bring

  • Proficiency in C++, specifically embedded software development using C++;
  • Experience of other languages such as Python, C#, Rust, C;
  • Experience of using version control systems (e.g. Git / Git Lab or similar);
