Mechanical Engineer II – Design Engineer (Onsite) in the ADGE department. Supports design, development, transition to production, and sustainment of rugged military electronics and platform systems.
Responsibilities- Investigate and resolve change requests from manufacturing or suppliers.
- Develop rework and/or modification procedures.
- Interface with other engineering disciplines, non‑technical disciplines, and suppliers to develop design solutions and resolve technical challenges.
- Work independently, meeting schedule, financial, and technical commitments.
- Participate in design peer reviews, resolve action items, and conduct trade studies.
- Mentor and guide less experienced engineers.
- Minimum 2 years of Mechanical Engineering experience, preferably in hardware for military environments.
- Experience from concept definition through detailed design, transition to production, and production support.
- Proficiency with 3D CAD tools and product data management.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
- Advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering or hardware systems design.
- Experience with electronics packaging, RF, digital, and power product design.
- Familiarity with ECAD and configuration management processes.
- Knowledge of Military and Commercial specifications, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Ability to develop technical solutions to complex user requirements.
- CREO CAD and related documentation tools.
- PDM or similar product data management tools.
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
- Team player, self‑driven, excellent collaboration and interpersonal skills.
- Strong communication, technical writing, and presentation abilities.
- Ability to multi‑task and manage competing priorities.
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
