In this role as a Digital Electrical Engineer I, you will design and develop next-generation circuit card assemblies (CCAs) and FPGA-based solutions utilizing leading industry architectures including AMD, Altera, and Microchip. Your designs will power mission-critical applications across gigabit serial interfaces, Radio Frequency (RF) and Electro-Optical (EO) digital signal processing, embedded controllers, and processor interfaces. Working in an agile, cross-functional environment alongside systems, mechanical, and software engineers, you will contribute across the full lifecycle—from initial architectural concepts and algorithm modeling to hands-on hardware integration and production release.
This is for our Tewksbury, MA Location.
- Develop and verify digital architecture, circuit card designs, and FPGA implementations targeting configurable logic devices.
- Model digital algorithms, partition design functions, and write high-reliability code for embedded processing systems.
- Perform component selection, schematic capture, circuit simulation, and collaborate on physical layout and routing.
- Integrate and validate hardware designs in a laboratory environment using advanced test instrumentation against rigorous system requirements.
- Maintain comprehensive design documentation, technical reports, and configuration management artifacts throughout the product lifecycle.
- Support engineering activities from initial customer requirement definition through formal production release.
You Must Have:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) discipline. Degree must be obtained by start date.
- Experience or coursework with one or more of the following:
Digital Electronics, Circuit Design or Analysis, Digital Design, or HDL coding targeting configurable logic devices. - Experience using common electronic test and measurement equipment (such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, or digital multimeters) for circuit characterization, debugging, and validation.
* Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.
- Demonstrated proficiency with VHDL or Verilog coding, simulation, and synthesis tools.
- Hands-on experience integrating, troubleshooting, and debugging digital electronics using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and digital multimeters.
- Experience with electrical schematic capture, PCB layout, or circuit analysis software.
- Familiarity with FPGA timing constraints, timing closure, and digital simulation tools (e.g., Questa, Riviera-PRO).
- Exposure to embedded processors, System on Chip (SoC) architectures, or industry protocols (AXI, PCIe, SPI, I2C).
- Experience utilizing Python, C, or Linux-based development environments for engineering workflows.
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git or Git Hub.
- Understanding of radar, image, or digital signal processing techniques.
- Familiarity with multi-gigabit transceivers (MGTs) and high-speed serial interfaces.
