Pay Rate: $20.00 – $21.00 per hour (Pay based on experience and MAP Certification).
The NEEDS Center is a growing non‑profit organization and right now we have 8 openings for Direct Care Specialists who will assist and support adults with developmental disabilities to live as independently as possible while enjoying all aspects of Community Living. This is a role where you can truly make a difference in the lives of others.
- Full‑time and part‑time positions available in our residential home in Tewksbury, MA.
- These positions are primarily either second shift, overnights, and/or weekends.
These are entry‑level jobs with great potential for career growth – and training is provided.
Responsibilities- Assisting and supporting individuals in daily routines.
- Supporting residents in developing daily living skills, such as cooking, and cleaning.
- Performing light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment, including cleaning common areas and ensuring personal spaces are tidy.
- Implementing clinical, educational and vocational programs.
- Observing and recording data for programs established in their Individual and Behavioral support plans.
- Participating with other team members to create a therapeutic environment that includes regular community membership.
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent, Bachelor’s degree preferred (but not necessary).
- Experience with behavior management preferred (but not necessary).
- Ability and willingness to provide hands‑on personal care to adults with developmental disabilities.
- Must be able to communicate effectively in both verbal and written form with co‑workers and supported individuals. Must be able to read fluently.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a diverse team.
