Base Pay Range
$18.00/hr - $21.00/hr
Responsibilities- Execute, monitor, and train inventory best practices and standard operating procedures for the entire store, including front end and pharmacy.
- Support pharmacy inventory management activities: receiving, counting, ordering, facilitating returns.
- Champion On‑Shelf Availability; receive, count, price, and process all in‑store inventory and ensure planogram accuracy.
- Review and coordinate use of reports and system applications to maintain accurate front‑end and pharmacy on‑hand balances and pricing.
- Execute and maintain front‑end and pharmacy asset protection techniques; file claims for overages, shortages, order errors, and damaged goods including prescription drugs.
- Open and close the store in the absence of store management, handling all required system start‑ups, cash handling, cashier responsibilities, and ensuring readiness.
- Engage customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
- When serving as the leader on duty, resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Model and share customer‑service best practices with all team members, using Walgreens service traits.
- Execute and coach team members on inventory management processes, including order creation, review, and receipt.
- Scan deliveries while vendors are present; focus on One‑Box receiving and take appropriate action for undelivered or incorrect orders.
- Verify all pharmacy shipments are posted; complete/verify postings of all pharmacy warehouse orders, prescription and OTC orders, and secondary vendor orders.
- Perform OSA end‑to‑end process, including warehouse and DSD for planogrammed departments, disposals, call‑ins, vendor returns, and scan‑outs.
- Complete pharmacy inventory activities under pharmacist supervision: recalls, vendor returns, non‑controlled and damaged returns, interstore transfers, and claim posting.
- Execute pricing activities: price changes, markdowns, deletes, and regulatory pricing tasks.
- Support front‑end and pharmacy ordering by ordering expense items, monitoring manual orders, and maintaining consigned inventory.
- Maintain accurate inventory counts and compliance with state and local laws for regulated products.
- Assist with inventory records, including posting received products, organizing invoices, and preparing for physical inventory.
- Support clean and well‑merchandised shelves and counters.
- Use all store systems and equipment.
- Coach team on package delivery activities, scanning, daily inventory functions, and pickup program execution.
- When acting as the leader on duty, handle POS sales, record errors, voids, returns, refunds, and cash drops.
- Comply with all company policies and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned.
- Attend company‑based trainings and complete all e‑learning modules, including safety training.
- Obtain and maintain a valid pharmacy license/certification as required by the state.
- Serve as liaison between management and non‑management team members; coach and develop capabilities related to inventory systems.
- When serving as the leader on duty, communicate tasks to team members and report disciplinary issues and customer complaints to management.
- Six months of prior work experience with Walgreens (internal) or one year of prior retail work experience (external).
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
- “Achieving expectations” rating on last performance review and no written disciplinary actions in the previous 12 months (internal candidates only).
- Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to multitask and manage execution.
- Experience in identifying operational issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.
- Previous experience as a shift lead, pharmacy technician, designated hitter, or customer service associate.
- Prior work experience with Walgreens, with an evaluation on file.
