Sr Software Engineer – Maintenance Diagnostics
Join Raytheon’s team to design, develop, test, and integrate software solutions for the Patriot Air Defense System. This role involves end‑to‑end software development—from requirements analysis to testing and integration—to ensure the effective maintenance and reliability of the Patriot system.

- Perform requirements analysis to define software features and functionality in alignment with system needs.
- Design, develop, and maintain non‑real‑time diagnostic software for Patriot system maintenance.
- Execute and document software testing—including unit, integration, and validation—to ensure software reliability and performance.
- Document software designs, development processes, and test results for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with software development standards, security protocols, and industry regulations.
- Travel and off‑hours testing (2nd or 3rd shift) may occasionally be required.
- Typically requires a STEM degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience unless prohibited by local law.
- Experience in requirements analysis, software design, coding, testing, and integration.
- Proficiency in Ada, C/C++, Java, or another object‑oriented programming language.
- Experience with Hardware‑in‑the‑Loop testing in a lab environment.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an interim Secret U.S. security clearance prior to start date; U.S. citizenship required.
- Active Secret security clearance.
- Experience in aerospace, defense, or related industries.
- Experience with Agile, Git, Jenkins, and other software development tools and methodologies.
- Experience with radar systems or similar complex systems.
- Experience with software integration in complex systems.
- Experience with diagnostic software, predictive maintenance techniques, and data visualization tools.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, particularly in data analysis and algorithm development.
