We’re looking for a full‑time, staff Lead Project Engineer to join our Day & Zimmermann team located in Texarkana, TX. In this role, you will design and deliver equipment‑related projects from small modifications to complete production cells. You will also coordinate with process and facilities engineers/project managers to determine and deliver an appropriate scope of work.
Responsibilities- Be responsible for executing new capital projects and ensuring assigned projects are being completed on time and on budget, ranging from equipment upgrades and machine/cell designs to large capital improvements.
- Prepare scope of project, identification of equipment for sourcing, oversee installation and construction of new projects and prepare capital estimates to obtain project approval.
- Develop equipment specifications and commission plans, ensuring that the equipment is safe and meets the needs of manufacturing.
- Develop processing parameters and operating instructions.
- Participate in the identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives and be a champion for automation throughout the plant.
- Support safety, environmental, and sustainability initiatives that keep both employees and the environment protected.
- Troubleshoot equipment and develop permanent solutions to address recurring issues.
- Manage multiple projects in various phases.
- Manage professional services, contractors, and construction resources.
- Excellent technical and engineering skills, written and verbal communication skills, including leading group meetings/projects.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, effectively prioritize workload and be committed to continuous process improvement.
- Self‑starter; willingness to be hands‑on with projects and drive them from imagination to implementation.
- Desire to start‑up new equipment/processes and train others to ensure process runs properly.
- Government Secret Clearance may be required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- 8+ years in production and project‑related experience with automated processes for discreet manufacturing
- Valid Driver’s License required
- Great attitude and team player
- Successful completion of background screening process.
In compliance with this state’s pay transparency laws, the wage range for this role is $104,480 – $156,720. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary; final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
