We’re looking for a full‑time, staff IT Systems Engineer to join our Lone Star LLC location in Texarkana, TX! The IT Systems Engineer is responsible for installing, configuring, and troubleshooting/supporting the corporate infrastructure networks, servers, storage, and advanced applications. Responsible for supporting the security, availability, recoverability, and performance of many storage, server, network, and application IT infrastructure areas. Familiarity with support of cybersecurity controls, technologies, tools, procedures, and adherence to policies.
Responsibilities- Uses knowledge of network, server, and storage systems to help design and install internal and external server, storage, and local area networks. Recommends upgrades, patches, and new applications and equipment.
- Maintain and improve the availability, security, and performance of corporate IT networking systems including servers, storage, network devices, and applications. Tests and evaluates network systems to eliminate problems and make improvements.
- Sets up, configures, and supports internal and/or external networks. Develops and maintains all systems, applications, security, and network configurations.
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on experience and judgment to provide technical support and guidance to users.
- Perform system upgrades and incorporate new technologies to the infrastructure minimizing effects on the user experience, working nights and weekends as necessary, and following all proper communications and change management practices.
- Work independently as well as assisting other infrastructure team and IT members to complete projects and tasks and individual, team and organizational goals.
- 3‑5+ years experience designing, installing, configuring, and supporting Windows Server operating systems, Active Directory, Windows Domains, Nutanix infrastructure, enterprise storage, and key infrastructure applications for the enterprise in on‑premises and public cloud environments.
- Good understanding, knowledge, and experience installing, configuring Nutanix and its features including high‑availability.
- Strong abilities and expertise in support of Windows server and domains administration and Active Directory, SQL Server Database Server, and advanced Microsoft and other third‑party technologies including Cisco ISE and other applications.
- Excellent documentation, communication, and organization skills and time management capabilities required.
- Strong knowledge of industry best practices in IT infrastructure operations and support as well as cybersecurity tools and methodologies.
- Bachelors Degree in a related field preferred.
- 3 to 5 or more years experience designing, installing, configuring, and supporting IT infrastructure.
- Microsoft Server, Cisco, and other technology and cybersecurity related certifications preferred.
- Experience or familiarity with compliance to NIST CSF, CIS, or other security control frameworks preferred.
