Position Overview TK Health is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our healthcare team at the Bowie County Jail in Texarkana, Texas.
This is a PRN/Part-Time opportunity with both day and night shifts available, making it a great option for nurses looking for additional hours or greater scheduling flexibility.
The LVN/LPN provides nursing care based on individual patient needs while performing both dependent and independent nursing functions within the scope of practical nursing. The position works under the direction and delegation of a Registered Nurse (RN) and supports the overall healthcare operations within the facility.
Key Responsibilities Provide direct patient care within the scope of LVN/LPN practice
Administer medications and treatments as ordered
Monitor and document patient health status and medical needs
Assist with intake screenings and medical assessments
Respond appropriately to medical concerns and emergencies
Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation
Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
Follow TK Health policies, procedures, and correctional healthcare standards
Qualifications
Current LVN or LPN license in the State of Texas Current CPR certification
Strong communication and organizational skills
Dependable and able to work effectively as part of a healthcare team Comfortable working within a secure correctional environment
Correctional, emergency, or institutional healthcare experience is preferred but not required
New graduates are encouraged to apply
