Summary
Our Lady of Fatima, Texas City, Texas seeks a responsible, energetic, and nurturing individual with teaching experience. The position will be under the general supervision of the School Principal, facilitating student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills through implementing Archdiocesan‑approved curriculum, documenting teaching and student progress, addressing specific educational needs, creating a flexible and safe learning environment, and providing feedback to students, parents, and administration.

Successful Candidate Is Expected To- Be mature, responsible, energetic, and nurturing with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Hold a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
- Have Texas State Teaching Certification.
- Pass a criminal background check clearance.
- Be trained and verified in Safe Haven Child Abuse Awareness.
- Be committed to the philosophy of Catholic school and value‑oriented education.
- Have a current Catechist Certificate or be working towards one.
- Be able to handle both face‑to‑face teaching and remote online teaching.
- Develop and administer school curriculum consistent with school goals and objectives.
- Promote a classroom environment that is safe and conducive to individualized and small‑group instruction.
- Develop lesson plans and instructional materials and translate them into learning experiences that best utilize available instruction time.
- Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning and modify instructional methods to fit individual students’ needs, including those with special needs; conduct individual and small‑group instruction as needed.
- Instruct students in the principles of responsible digital citizenship and other subject matters specified in applicable laws, as well as administrative regulations and procedures of the school system.
- Continuously acquire professional knowledge and learn about current developments in the educational field by attending seminars, workshops, or professional meetings, or by conducting research.
- Organize and maintain a system for accurate and complete record‑keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievements, and attendance as required by procedures and applicable laws.
- Encourage parental involvement in students’ education and ensure effective communication with students and parents.
- Ensure student conduct conforms to the school’s standards as outlined in the Student & Faculty Handbooks, and establish and maintain standards of pupil behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
- Coordinate with other professional staff members to evaluate and assess curriculum and participate in faculty meetings and committees.
- Select and requisition appropriate books, instructional aids, and other supplies and equipment and maintain inventory records.
- Administer standardized tests in accordance with testing programs.
- Agree to follow and uphold all COVID protocols set forth by the school’s plan.

Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of current teaching methods and educational pedagogy, and the ability to differentiate instruction based upon student learning styles.
- Knowledge of school curriculum and concepts.
- Knowledge of data systems, data analysis, and the formulation of action plans.
- Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
- Ability to use computer network systems and software applications as needed.
- Ability to organize and coordinate work.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents in person, through electronic means, and in writing.
- Ability to engage in self‑evaluation regarding performance and professional growth.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others in the course of work.
