Medical/Surgical - Med Surg RN - Travel Nurse

We're looking for Medical Surgical RNs for an immediate travel nurse opening in Texas City, TX. The right RN should have 1-2 years recent acute care experience.

As a Med Surg RN, responsibilities include:

• Conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on patients' immediate conditions or needs.
• Perform ongoing assessments and appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician.
• Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions.
• Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs.
• Prep equipment and aid physician during examination and treatment.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures and provide support to families.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plans as prescribed by physician.

Physical Requirements:

• Stand and walk for long periods; bend, lean, stoop without difficulty.
• Lift up to 20 pounds routinely; lift up to 50 pounds when moving patients.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment treating patients who may be confused, agitated, or uncooperative.

Requirements:

• BLS certification.
• 1 year of recent acute care experience.
• Additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.
