Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is seeking a Petroleum Inspector to join our Caleb Brett team in Texas City. This is a role in the Inspection and Testing business with opportunities to grow a career in the ATIC industry.

The Petroleum Inspector, a valued member of our Inspection team, is responsible for performing an array of measurement testing of clients’ commodities and cargo and reporting those test results to management.
Responsibilities- Understand and adhere to Caleb Brett safety procedures.
- Perform measurement testing (volume, temperature) and sampling of commodity materials in lines, shore tanks, cars, tank trucks, barges, and ships.
- Conduct visual inspections on lines, pumps, manifolds, shore tanks, rail cars, tank trucks, barges, and ships.
- Complete custody transfer surveys of commodities transferred to and from rail cars, tank trucks, shore tanks, barges, and ships.
- Perform routine equipment calibrations, verification, and function checks.
- Verify and communicate results and enter data into the appropriate media (print or electronic).
- Provide on-the-job assistance and receive training from more experienced inspectors.
- Coordinate with terminal, transport, and company personnel to promote smooth execution of duties.
- Monitor availability of supplies and communicate needs to the Dispatcher or Coordinator.
- Organize and coordinate jobs so services, reports, and samples are submitted in a timely manner.
- Maintain work areas, records, and equipment in a clean, organized, and functional condition.
- Ensure data traceability and validity in the required media.
- High School/GED
- Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record (required)
- Ability to acquire and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
Additional qualifications/Responsibilities:
Ability to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays and on-call basis; no fear of heights; IFIA certification is a plus; ability to climb ladders and stairs for shore tanks; experience with verifying and communicating results into the appropriate media.
- Experience with volume measurement, temperature measurement, and sampling of commodity materials in lines, shore tanks, cars, tank trucks, barges, and ships.
- Experience with visual inspections on related equipment and vessels.
- Experience with custody transfer surveys and equipment calibrations/verification.
