The successful Equipment Operator / Laborer candidate will safely perform the basic tasks required to load, unload and move petroleum coke in Texas City, Texas.
What You Will Be Doing- Follow proper safety rules and operating procedures to support zero tolerance safety objectives
- Operate/maintain heavy equipment including front-end loaders, excavators, loader, conveyors, skid steer and other mobile equipment
- Complete and maintain required daily paperwork
- Housekeeping duties, including shoveling, washing down of work areas, and keeping offices, restrooms, break rooms and work rooms clean and tidy
- Assist Maintenance personnel, as needed and directed
- Occasionally work in areas outside of your normal duties, when instructed by Supervision
- Clear a criminal background check and drug screen as required by Marathon Petroleum
- One year of Heavy Equipment experience
- Read, write, and understand English and follow written and/or verbal instructions
- Physically able to handle large tools, climb on and off the equipment, ascend and descend ladders, and should not have a fear of heights
- Possess Environmental & Safety awareness
- Work a rotating (days/nights) 12‑hour shift to include weekends, holidays, and overtime as necessary
- Equipment Operators are routinely required to work outdoors and are exposed to the elements
- Handle large tools, climb on and off the equipment, ascend and descend ladders, and should not have a fear of heights
