Bookkeeper

• Pay: $17.00 - $28.00 per hour, based on experience

Gundersons CFO & Bookkeeping is a Texas-based accounting and bookkeeping firm serving small businesses and individual clients. We are looking for a detail-driven bookkeeper who does clean, complete work. The kind of person who finishes one task before moving on to the next. This is a full-time, in-person role at our Hempstead, TX office. You will manage bookkeeping for a portfolio of small-business clients, support walk-in clients at the front office, work within established systems, and report to a structured review process.

Accuracy and consistency are not aspirational here; they are the baseline.

• Manage full-cycle bookkeeping for multiple small business clients
• Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
• Maintain accurate general ledger entries and chart of accounts
• Process accounts payable and receivable
• Prepare monthly financial reports: P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow
• Support payroll coordination and reconciliation
• Greet and assist walk-in clients, answering routine inquiries and directing complex questions to the appropriate team member
• Communicate with clients on routine bookkeeping matters
• Flag discrepancies and elevate issues through proper channels
• Maintain organized, complete client files within firm systems

• 2+ years of bookkeeping experience, preferably with small business clients
• Proficiency in Quick Books Online (QBO Pro Advisor certification a plus)
• Solid working knowledge of GAAP bookkeeping principles
• Experience with bank reconciliations, AP/AR, and monthly financial reporting
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets
• Experience managing multiple client files simultaneously
• Familiarity with payroll processing (ADP, Gusto, or similar)

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
• Experience in a multi-client bookkeeping or accounting firm environment
• Familiarity with year-end work papers and tax return support documentation
