Where Hill Country Prestige Meets Financial Leadership

Picture a desk with a view of Lake LBJ, where the gentle churn of marina traffic and the distant click of a well-struck golf ball provide the soundtrack to your workday. Now imagine that desk belongs to you—at the helm of financial strategy for one of Texas’s most celebrated resort destinations.

Horseshoe Bay Resort isn’t simply a place to work. Spanning more than 7,000 acres along the shores of Lake LBJ in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, this is a destination where world-class golf courses, a full-service marina, award-winning dining, and a renowned spa converge into something extraordinary. And at the center of it all sits a finance leader with the vision and expertise to keep the engine running flawlessly.

We are seeking that leader.

A Role Built for Impact, Not Just Oversight

This is not a back-office posting buried in spreadsheets. As the right hand to the Director of Finance, you’ll serve as a true business partner—translating financial insight into operational excellence across more than 40 departments, from championship golf to marina operations, from fine dining to luxury lodging.

Your expertise will directly shape decisions that matter. Your leadership will be felt far beyond the ledger.

What You’ll Own
  • Month-end close, financial reporting, and reconciliation processes executed with precision and timeliness
  • Full accounting operations—GL, AP/AR, payroll, income audit, and purchasing
  • Budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis spanning multiple revenue streams
  • Audit readiness, compliance, tax reporting, and internal controls
  • Cash flow oversight, multi-entity financial activity, and capital planning
  • Strategic partnership with operational leaders across F&B, golf, spa, marina, lodging, and membership
  • Mentorship and development of a high-performing accounting team
The Caliber of Candidate We Seek
  • 5–10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including leadership responsibility
  • A track record as Controller, Assistant Controller, or Senior Accounting Manager within hospitality
  • Direct hospitality experience required; resort experience strongly preferred
  • Command of GAAP reporting, month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls
Preferred Experience
  • Multi-unit or multi-outlet hospitality environments
  • Exposure to F&B, spa, golf, marina, or resort operations
  • A history of actively supporting operational leaders, not simply reporting to them
  • Familiarity with M3, Profit Sword, Birch Street, Opera, or comparable platforms
The Measure of Success
  • Financial reporting so accurate and timely it becomes invisible—simply trusted
  • Finance recognized not as a scorekeeper, but as a driver of performance
  • Strong, collaborative relationships across every corner of the resort
  • Accounting operations running with quiet, effective precision
  • A motivated, well-developed team that chooses to stay
The Setting

Horseshoe Bay, Texas, offers what few postings can: a genuine lifestyle upgrade. Here, the Hill Country’s rolling landscapes meet the sparkling waters of Lake LBJ, creating a backdrop equally suited to ambitious careers and well-earned weekends. Close enough to Austin for convenience, far enough removed for serenity—this is where professional excellence and quality of life are not mutually exclusive.

What Awaits You
  • Base salary of $105,000–$125,000, with flexibility based on experience
  • Performance-based bonus of approximately 10%
  • Comprehensive benefits: medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) with match
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Relocation assistance available for the right candidate
  • Resort perks, including discounts on dining, retail, and stays
