Green Specialty Service, Inc. | Joshua, Texas | Full-time, salaried | On-site
Who we areGreen Specialty Service is an aerospace manufacturer with more than 45 years of history, now intentionally growing and professionalizing how it operates. Our mission is to manufacture high-quality products that enhance safety and efficiency worldwide, driven by a commitment to excellence and exceptional customer service. We want people who are excited to help build the next version of the company.
The opportunityThis is a hands‑on leadership role that connects the shop floor to the customer. You will own CNC machining opportunities from first inquiry through on‑time delivery: finding and qualifying new work, quoting it with sound technical and commercial judgment, and leading it through Production, Quality, Purchasing, and Technical Operations. You will report to the CEO, collaborate with our leadership team, and lead one direct report, our Technical Operations Lead.
For the first six months to a year, you will be deep in the details, learning a wide range of services and working with people at every level of the company, from the shop floor to the CEO.
What you’ll do- Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified opportunities through outreach, quote follow-up, re‑engagement of past customers, and growth within existing accounts
- Review drawings, specifications, and requirements, then develop the manufacturing approach and prepare accurate estimates
- Recommend Go / No-Go decisions based on fit, capacity, margin, and likelihood of award
- Lead project kickoffs and turn awarded work into a clear plan with milestones and owners
- Serve as the primary customer contact, with proactive updates and early communication when conditions change
- Track results against quoted assumptions and complete after‑action reviews so every quote improves the next
- Coach and develop the Technical Operations Lead
- Keep quotes and project data current in our ERP (Fulcrum)
- 10+ years of experience in CNC machining, with a strong understanding of tooling, work holding, materials, and how our services are used to make parts
- Demonstrated experience estimating CNC jobs from customer drawings and specifications
- Ability to read technical drawings, GD&T, material requirements, and special process callouts
- Project management experience, including planning, scheduling, cost control, and risk management
- Strong customer‑facing communication skills and a business‑development mindset
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams)
- No college degree required. Hands‑on machine shop experience matters most to us.
- Aerospace or defense manufacturing experience and familiarity with AS9100
- CAD/CAM experience (GibbsCAM or Mastercam)
- Federal or defense contracting experience, including FAR/DFARS flow‑downs
Our core values are Never Stop Improving, Discipline in the Details, Own It, One Team One Mission, Respect Through Action, and Integrity and Honor. We are looking for a servant leader who works independently and asks for help when needed, owns mistakes and says "here’s what happened and here’s how I’ll fix it," collaborates rather than silos, and builds up the people around them.
