Adult male corrections Psychiatry locums in Texas with a predictable Monday through Friday, 40 hour week and no call. This is a mix of inpatient and outpatient work with a defined daily volume.

Highlights

• No call
• Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday only
• Mix of inpatient and outpatient psychiatry with adult male patients only
• Defined workload, about 8 to 12 patients per day, about 100 encounters per month

Practice Setting

• Mix of inpatient and outpatient psychiatry
• Adult male patients only, general population custody levels 1 and 2
• Provides direct psychiatric care to assigned patients
• Provides clinical supervision to psychiatric mid level practitioners as assigned by the clinical director

Schedule

• Monday through Friday, full time only, 40 hours per week
• Flexibility around shift times within the 40 hour work week
• No call requirements
• Maximum 3 months as a locum, must be willing to consider permanent

Cases and Procedures

• Conducts psychiatric, physical, and neurological examinations on assigned patients
• Participates in due process proceedings for voluntary admission and compelled psychoactive medication
• Forensic experience not required, but a benefit

Requirements

• Must be an MD or DO
• Board Certified in Psychiatry
• Texas medical license required, will not wait for license
• BLS and DEA required
