Salary: $2400 per course ($2700 for a faculty member with a terminal degree)

Application Requirements: Candidates are required to submit a cover letter, CV, and three references, two of which must be academic.

Qualifications
  • Required: Master of Arts in Theatre or related field.
  • Preferred: Two (2) years of teaching experience. Producing or arts management experience.
Responsibilities
  • The Department of Visual and Performing Arts seeks candidates for the position of Adjunct Professor of Theatre. MFA in Acting or Directing is required by the time of initial appointment. Candidates with a minimum of 2 years teaching experience are preferred.
  • Courses to be taught:
    Acting I – THEA 1310 and THEA 1351.
  • Teach and inspire non-majors to pursue a major or minor in Theatre; stay abreast of developments in the theatre world; collaborate with local and regional artists and performing arts organizations.
  • Contribute to shared administrative and recruitment tasks; participate in departmental and college-wide committees.
  • Create inclusive and engaging learning environments for a diverse student body; experience with first-generation students is highly desirable.
  • Participate in a program expanding into multi-million-dollar improvements to fine arts facilities; engage with the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF).
  • Responsible for the safety of others. This position is security sensitive.
Other Information

Texas Law requires a 60 day waiting period before eligible new state employees are eligible to enroll in health insurance.
