The permanent responsibility of a faculty member is to provide the most effective instruction possible in their discipline. Supervision is received from an appropriate supervisor. The faculty member works to ensure that instruction meets the educational needs of students. Classes are offered during daytime, evenings, and weekends, as well as some college holidays. They are scheduled at various times during the academic year and at various campuses and off‑site locations as needed.

Position is based on a 10.5‑month contract.

Salary ranges, based on experience: 0‑10 years experience, up to a master’s degree: $57,804–$63,637; doctorate: $65,387–$71,221. The maximum number of years of experience for which an employee may receive increased compensation is ten years.

• Minimum of a certificate in Plumbing (or closely related field) with three years of full‑time related work experience; or a high school diploma or GED with five years of full‑time related experience.
• NCCER instructor certification or ability to become certified within the first 60 days of employment.
• Must meet minimum requirements for teaching at the post‑secondary level set by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, and relevant accrediting agencies.
• Criminal background check is required.
