Position Title: Paraprofessional assisting Students with Disabilities

Location: Littlefield Junior High School

Position Requirements: Compliance with requirements of NCLB Paraprofessional qualifications

Education/Certification License: High School Diploma, Texas Paraprofessional License (can be obtained upon hire)

Starting Pay: Starting pay commensurate with experience

Duties/Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support to various students with disabilities in an inclusion and resource setting
• Ensure students are on-task and productive
• Assist various students with disabilities in transitioning between learning environments
• Develop rapport with students with disabilities
• Assist teachers in preparing instructional materials
• Carry out the instructional programs and lessons designed by the supervising teacher.
• Work with General and Special Education teachers for benefit of students
• Be discreet and respectful of confidential information as required by Federal, State, local governance
• Use techniques to de-escalate students in elevated state
• Ability to independently lift 50 pounds
