Multiple daytime positions located on the WCJC Sugar Land campus.

The Part-Time Peer Tutor will work closely with the Learning Center Facilitator and staff to provide a positive and welcoming educational environment for students. The Peer Tutor provides student tutoring/assistance in core courses, study skills, and time management. The Peer Tutor assists in the Learning Center computer lab as well as provides other services offered in the Center.

• Serve as a Student Learning Assistant
• Assist students in core courses, study skills, and time management
• Contribute in the Learning Center computer lab
• Provide other services offered in the Center

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Current enrollment (or continued enrollment) at WCJC
• Completion of a college English or Algebra course with a letter grade no lower than a B
• Ability to relate to students and present content in a variety of ways to accommodate diverse learning styles
• Strong technical skills including experience with an online Learning Management System such as Brightspace and computer proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated sensitivity to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic, and disability backgrounds of student populations
• Criminal background check required
