Salary: $10.00 hourly

Multiple daytime positions located on the WCJC Sugar Land campus.
General DescriptionThe Part-Time Peer Tutor will work closely with the Learning Center Facilitator and staff to provide a positive and welcoming educational environment for students. The Peer Tutor provides student tutoring/assistance in core courses, study skills, and time management. The Peer Tutor assists in the Learning Center computer lab as well as provides other services offered in the Center.
Responsibilities- Serve as a Student Learning Assistant
- Assist students in core courses, study skills, and time management
- Contribute in the Learning Center computer lab
- Provide other services offered in the Center
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Current enrollment (or continued enrollment) at WCJC
- Completion of a college English or Algebra course with a letter grade no lower than a B
- Ability to relate to students and present content in a variety of ways to accommodate diverse learning styles
- Strong technical skills including experience with an online Learning Management System such as Brightspace and computer proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated sensitivity to the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic, and disability backgrounds of student populations
- Criminal background check required
