Renewable Energy Technician 1 to 3 [On‑Site]
Join EDF Power Solutions North America as a Renewable Energy Technician. This entry‑level role supports technicians in the maintenance, repair, and testing of wind, solar and storage assets across the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
Scope of PositionEDF Power Solutions is a market‑leading independent power producer and service provider delivering clean energy solutions through wind, solar, battery storage, smart EV charging, microgrids, green hydrogen and transmission projects. The Technician will work under supervision of an experienced technician and assist with preventive maintenance, installation, inspection, troubleshooting and repair of wind turbines and photovoltaic systems.

The full pay range is $22.16 to $36.97 per hour. The target range for this position is $26.00 to $31.00 per hour.
Scope of JobUnder direction of the site manager, the Technician will: assist experienced technicians with maintenance, preventive maintenance and repair of wind turbines and/or photovoltaic power and energy storage systems. The position requires learning and applying EDFps core values: safety, teamwork, respect, passion, transparency, good sense and accountability.
Required TrainingMandatory five‑week training and certification course at the start of employment in Albert Lea, MN. Travel, accommodation and expenses will be provided.
Responsibilities- Assist with maintaining equipment efficiently and safely
- Perform routine maintenance and support higher‑level technicians with equipment services
- Help with new equipment installation, inspection, troubleshooting and repair
- Assist with testing electrical, mechanical and hydraulic components and collecting data for analysis
- Work safely under all circumstances and seek guidance when unsure
- Attend required safety and technical training
- Collaborate in a team environment and apply EDFps core values
- Document completed jobs, supply orders, daily work orders, time tracking and other paperwork
- Perform additional duties as assigned
- Extreme weather conditions (cold, heat, rain, wind)
- High voltage and stored energy exposure
- Moving mechanical parts and vibration
- Confined spaces; moderate noise level
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 0 to 2 years of experience in renewable energy sector or equivalent field
- Completed safety and technical training for entry‑level technician
- Basic computer knowledge
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate motor vehicles
- Knowledge of electronics and mechanical components a plus
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking)
- Maximum employee weight (wind only) not to exceed 285 lb
- Use hands/fingers, reach with arms, hand‑eye coordination, manual dexterity, vision and hearing
- Stand, crouch, walk and work for extended periods
- Operate company vehicles, lift and move up to 50 lb regularly
- Work in electrical‑mechanical environment, climb ladders, stairs, structures up to 91 m
- Work at heights, in confined spaces, and in extreme weather conditions
