• Assist operations team in troubleshooting production related issues
• Provide Process Safety Management (PSM) support
• Pilot Plant Operation
• Identify potential processing hazards and quality control issues
• Write operational procedures and conduct operations team training

Customer Relations

• Communicate project related information
• Work with customers and sales to resolve issues and/or complaints
• Identify opportunities for improvement
• Work with customer to ensure successful operation of new and ongoing projects

Management and Supervision

• Train and develop junior chemists
• Organize resources to provide laboratory and quality support for operations and pilot plant

Qualifications

• Minimum MS in Chemistry, PhD preferred
• Minimum 20 years experience in laboratory / chemical processing environment
• Organic Chemistry Experience in batch and continuous processing, distillation, filtration, solids handling, alkoxylation, maleation, esterification, amine-acid reactions, Mannich base reactions, phenol-formaldehyde reactions preferred.
• Experience in batch processing preferred
• Product and Process development experience required; strong synthesis background preferred
• Process scale up experience preferred
• PSM experience required
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to timely communicate to Management and to Subordinates
• Strong Leadership skills a plus
