Base pay range$88,000.00/yr - $96,000.00/yr
As Herbalife’s Process Engineer, you’ll play a key role in optimizing manufacturing processes at one of our contract manufacturing sites. You’ll collaborate closely with on-site teams and Herbalife stakeholders to drive efficiency, ensure quality, and make a meaningful impact on the products our customers trust.
How you would contribute- Lead the development and revision of manufacturing procedures for blending and packaging (master batch record revisions).
- Lead cross‑functional teams for process improvement initiatives that enhance product quality, manufacturing efficiency, and deliver cost savings.
- Execute investigations regarding manufacturing opportunities related to raw material, process design, and product events.
- Execute statistical studies to evaluate process capability and analytical results to optimize formula and process design.
- Develop and draft rework procedures related to blending and packaging events.
- Lead formula changes (e.g., overages, excipient amount/grade) to commercial products to ensure high process capability within the Herbalife project management system (Agile PPM system).
- Approve formula specifications to ensure raw material inputs meet label claims and method capability.
- Develop and lead pilot, process verification studies to evaluate alternate raw material and process design.
- Source raw materials as needed for pilot production. Adhere to safety, document and equipment standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Additional duties as assigned.
The Technical Services team is comprised of members with a diverse background experience that ensures each teammate is always learning a different part of the development process from beginning to commercialization.
Skills and background required to be successfulSkills- Ability to multi‑task and problem solve, while maintaining a clear sense of priorities and focus to drive correct decision making.
- Understand basic regulatory requirements.
- Good working knowledge of performance testing, statistics, scale up to production, manufacturing limitations, preservation system development, stability testing, raw ingredient evaluation, and packaging compatibility.
- Must have strong problem solving, interpersonal, teamwork, project management and communication skills (oral & written).
- General knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Ability to work with pilot scale equipment.
- Ability to demonstrate good document practices to ensure accurate collection and confidentiality of proprietary information.
- At least 2-3 years relevant experience in a Product Development, Laboratory or Manufacturing Engineering role.
- Experience with New Product Process /Appropriate Product Lifecycle Management (e.g. Agile).
- Manufacturing process design for product introduction and scale up. Competent use of MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
B.S. with a major in Engineering, Food Science, Chemistry, or other related technical programs, or equivalent level of experience.
Preferred qualifications- Has working knowledge of Agile and Oracle systems.
- Experienced in working in a GMP environment.
- Experience working with other departments that interface with R&D such as QA, QC, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain.
