Overview

This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single‑configuration heavy‑lift orbital launch vehicle.
Responsibilities- Design, stand up, and execute large‑scale development tests for the New Glenn upper stage, ensuring timely completion of test objectives.
- Design, route, and fabricate cryogenic and high‑pressure plumbing and instrumentation for test stands.
- Select, source, and install fluid components (solenoid valves, pneumatic valves, pressure regulators, relief valves, etc.) for ambient and cryogenic applications.
- Install instrumentation to gather safety and performance data.
- Collaborate daily with engineers and technicians to plan and conduct test activities.
- Provide support for traveling to test locations (at least 25% of the time) when located in Kent.
- Work within a fixed‑term schedule with an end date of December 31, 2026.
- B.S. degree or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in design and operation of test stands.
- Ability to size test‑stand fluid piping and components.
- Proficiency reading P&IDs.
- Strong work ethic with high attention to detail and excellent organization.
- Strong written, verbal, and computer communication skills, capable of communicating at all levels.
- Passion for spaceflight and space exploration.
- Applicable industry experience.
- Technical expertise in designing, operating, testing, or producing pressurized (up to 6000 psi), cryogenic, actuated, or hydraulic systems.
- Strong knowledge of fluid components such as valves, regulators, actuators, servo‑valves, and fittings.
- Experience with sensors and instrumentation (pressure transducers, accelerometers, etc.), data acquisition, and automation systems.
- Familiarity with precision clean hardware and systems.
WA applicants: $78,943.00 – $. Other site ranges may differ.
