We are looking for a Commercial Pricing Leader who will run our pricing strategy with a primary focus across our Merchant businesses.
ResponsibilitiesThis role is accountable for developing and executing a comprehensive pricing strategy across all products and services, driving revenue growth and supporting price increase initiatives. The position will lead the optimization and automation of pricing processes, embed governance frameworks, and ensure alignment with commercial objectives. By leveraging market insights, CPQ logic, and cross-functional collaboration, this role will deliver scalable pricing solutions that maximize profitability, enhance customer value, and enable strategic expansion.
- Develop and execute pricing strategies that optimize revenue, align with financial goals, and reflect market conditions, competition, and customer value.
- Enhance pricing policies and governance frameworks, ensuring clear RACI and stakeholder buy-in across departments.
- Design and embed efficient pricing processes, driving automation and scalability for operational excellence.
- Implement and maintain pricing logic within CPQ platforms to enable accurate configuration and streamlined quoting.
- Collaborate with product, marketing, finance, compliance, and other teams to align pricing with user experience and product roadmaps.
- Combine market and competitor analysis to inform pricing decisions and adapt to regulatory changes.
- Define and track KPIs to measure pricing effectiveness and profitability impact.
- Identify and mitigate pricing risks while exploring opportunities for revenue growth, market expansion, and customer retention.
- Develop innovative multi-product pricing models considering transaction types, schemes, funding methods, risk factors, and customer segments.
- Tailor pricing strategies based on enhanced customer segmentation (geography, volume, industry, funding methods).
- Integrate cost drivers (interchange, FX, compliance costs) into pricing models in partnership with finance and operations.
- Communicate pricing strategies and changes effectively to internal stakeholders.
- Lead and mentor pricing analysts to deliver global pricing excellence.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field (or equivalent experience);
Master’s degree preferred but not essential. - Minimum 5 years of professional experience in related field or industry, including at least 4 years in pricing—ideally with team leadership experience.
- Advanced analytical skills with proven ability to build complex pricing models from scratch, including customer segmentation, pricing structures, and value-based metrics.
- Demonstrated expertise in direct and partner pricing (ISV, ISO, Payfac, etc.).
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel (for financial modelling) and PowerPoint (for executive-level presentations).
- Ability to translate large datasets into actionable insights and strategic recommendations.
- Strong understanding of card acquiring and payment processing, including interchange and scheme fee structures across US and EU markets.
- Prior experience in the payments industry highly desirable, particularly in card acquiring and SMB-focused merchant pricing.
