This role can be based in The Woodlands, Texas;
New Orleans, Louisiana; or Jackson, Mississippi.
The position is hybrid with an expectation of working in the office three days a week

Job Summary /Purpose
The Capital Projects Analyst is responsible for maintaining cost models, including forecasts, and providing detailed cost analysis related to New Generation projects at various stages of development or execution. This role involves creating and maintaining financial models, compiling performance information related to monthly project costs for reporting purposes, and offering analytical expertise to support project and portfolio management.
Job Duties /Responsibilities
* Develops/maintains cost models and conducts scenario analysis for assigned projects.
* Interfaces with project teams and finance professionals for cost control monitoring, analysis, and reporting. Provides detailed monitoring, analysis and reporting of project budgets and actual expenditures. Conducts forensic analysis on project spending and forecast to ensure budget adherence. Offers accurate financial and cost reporting, trend analysis, and recommends corrective actions.
* Supports Cost Management team by identifying gaps and opportunities for process improvement.
* Participate in risk management sessions, quantify potential cost impacts of risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
* Utilizes COGNOS, POWER BI, Maximo, and Power Plan to perform analyses, interpret the output and develop presentations from the data set (where applicable).
* Shows excellent documentation, technical writing, and organizational skills to ensure documents are ready for stage gate process requirements, prudency reviews, hearings, filings, Change Order Process, and other legal needs. Demonstrates strong Document Management skills.
* Demonstrate commitment to safety through active participation in safety meetings, safety inspections and field observations where applicable.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum education required of the position
* B.S. in Finance, Accounting, Project Management, Construction Management or applicable course of study or equivalent work experience.
* Desired: MBA or other advanced degree.
Minimum experience required of the position
Analyst III: 4-6 years of mega-project experience.
Analyst, Sr:
At least 6 years of mega-project experience.
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position
* Proficiency in cost estimating, budgeting, and project management principles (cost, schedule, scope, risk) for an owner or contractor.
* Understanding of project schedule impact on cost forecasting and integration of schedule in cost
* Ability to clearly communicate with project teams, finance business partners and leadership to identify and resolve issues
* Knowledge of mega project financing structures, including AFUDC, CIAC, and bank financing.
* Understanding of commercial agreements and contracting strategies
* Proficient in analyzing financial data, identifying discrepancies, and making informed recommendations.
* Advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
* Proficiency in Cognos, Power BI, Maximo and Power Plan
Desired:
* Knowledge of Entergy financial and accounting systems and processes
* Familiarity with the regulatory agencies governing the projects, such as NERC, MISO, FERC, Public Service Commission, and City Council, where applicable.
Any certificates, licenses, etc. required of the position
* Desired - AACEI Certified Cost Technician, AACEI Certified Cost Professional
