The NC Department of Adult Correction is one of the largest state agencies with more than 14,000 employees. It is responsible for safeguarding and preserving lives and property through prevention, protection, and preparation as well as the care, custody, and supervision of all adults sentenced for violating North Carolina laws. This department includes state prisons with custody, healthcare, and facility operations staff as well as probation/parole officers who supervised sentenced people in the community.

** Description of Work
** Reporting to the Administrative Officer III. this position is primarily responsible for planning, delivering, implementing, and coordinating the training activities for all employees assigned to Anson Correctional Institution. Other responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
1. Reviewing all Requests for Training and Applications for Education Assistance, reviewing, scheduling, coordination, and conducting mandatory annual in-service training for certified and non-certified staff as required by the North Carolina Criminal Justice Education and Training Standard Commission.
2. Assisting with the scheduling of Correctional Officer Basic Training for all new employees who are required by their job classification to attend this training.
3. Conducting the Annual Recertification Training for assigned Certified, General and Specialized instructors.
4. Reviewing, scheduling, coordinating, and conducting New Hire Orientation.
5. Performing other related duties as needed.
(Salary Range: $39,671 - $69,426)
