Overview
Martin County Hospital District (MCHD) EMS is seeking a Paramedic to respond to out-of-hospital emergencies. The Paramedic must remain focused on quality patient care, maintain a calm professional demeanor in hostile or hazardous environments, and function independently once credentialed by the EMS Medical Director. Responsibilities include providing pre-hospital clinical care per MCHD EMS scope of care, policies, procedures, and protocols, and using electronic communication and documentation systems.
Field Paramedics are expected to lead scenes, coordinate with first responders and bystanders, and ensure EMS equipment and ambulances are stocked, clean, and ready to respond to all calls for service.
- Respond to out-of-hospital emergencies and provide pre-hospital clinical care per scope of practice, policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Operate EMS equipment and ensure ambulances are stocked, clean, and ready for service.
- Maintain calm, professional demeanor in challenging environments and lead scene operations when cleared for independent duty.
- Utilize portable and mobile radios and electronic patient care records; communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
- Education:
High School Diploma or GED (preferred). - Successful completion of EMS Orientation training.
- Licenses/Certificates:
Current Texas DSHS certification or license; successful completion of AHA-approved BLS courses upon hire. - Driver’s license:
Clear current Texas driver’s license. - Experience:
1 year 911 experience preferred.
